Boxing Fight Tonight | Jaime Munguia vs. Kamil Szeremeta – middleweights

Jaime Munguia will make his return to the ring on Saturday, June 19, when he faces Kamil Szeremeta at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. The show will be broadcast live exclusively on DAZN throughout the world, except Mexico.

Munguia was set to face Maciej Sulecki on April 24, but Sulecki was retired and replaced by D’Mitrius Ballard the day before the fight. Ballard later suffered an injury and the fight was called off. Munguia and Sulecki were booked for June 19 but, once again, Sulecki withdrew. Szeremeta stepped forward, thus ensuring that Munguia would not have his return on hold again.

Szeremeta (21-1, five KOs) last fought in December and came up short against IBF champion Gennadiy Golovkin. He suffered the first loss of his career in a seventh round knockout. He hopes to bounce back against a rising star who is expected to become a major player in the middleweight division.

Undefeated Munguia is just 24 years old, but already has a 36-0 record with 29 knockouts and held the WBO junior middleweight championship before moving on to middleweight. He has stopped his last three opponents and was impressive in his last outing when he forced Tureano Johnson to retire in the sixth round.
